Background
The Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) is the primary public transportation provider for the Richmond region, operating as a not-for-profit public service corporation jointly owned by the City of Richmond and Chesterfield County.

GRTC provides transit services within Richmond City, Henrico County, and Chesterfield County, accounting for nearly 7.5 million passenger rides yearly. The agency seeks proposals from qualified firms to provide armed security officers to enhance safety and security across its service area.

Work Details
GRTC requires armed security officers to patrol and monitor activities throughout the service area, which includes Richmond City, Chesterfield County, and Henrico County. The officers will be responsible for:
- Conducting safety and security procedures
- Implementing site-specific policies
- Providing customer service to clients
- Performing emergency response activities when appropriate.

Proposals must detail the qualifications of the firm and experience in providing similar services as outlined in Exhibit F, Scope of Services.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to commence following the award in November 2024, with specific performance timelines to be detailed in proposals.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed throughout the Greater Richmond area, specifically in Richmond City, Chesterfield County, and Henrico County.
