Description
Background
Mt. Morris Consolidated Schools is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to establish network connectivity between Mt. Morris EAJ High School and the Mt. Morris EAJ High School Athletics Complex. This connectivity is essential for instructional purposes, particularly for High School Physical Education classes, and aims to ensure reliable access for student devices.
The District plans to apply for E-rate funding to support this project, adhering to the requirements set forth by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) E-rate Program.
Work Details
The selected vendor will provide a connectivity solution that ensures at least 1Gbps bandwidth between Mt. Morris EAJ High School and the Athletics Complex, which is approximately 1,600 feet away. The vendor must establish a connection from the school to the nearest network closet located about 250 feet away.
Acceptable solutions include wireless point-to-point or fiber optics, with physical cabling required to be underground and locatable. The proposal must accommodate at least seven VLANs and include expected latency of 1ms or better.
Additionally, the vendor must provide a 24-port Enterprise Network Switch (e.g., Ruckus ICX 8200-24ZP Multigigabit PoE) and three external Enterprise Access Points (e.g., Ruckus T750) with specified features such as Wi-Fi 6 capability and PoE++. Costs for installation, maintenance, support, and licensing for three years should be included in the proposal.
Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon selection of a vendor and is contingent upon approval of E-rate funding and availability of local/state funds.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed at Mt. Morris EAJ High School located at 8041 Neff Rd, Mt Morris, MI 48458, and the Athletics Complex located approximately 1,600 feet north of this location.
