Gibraltar Cable Barrier Parts

Background
The Commonwealth of Kentucky, through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) Division of Purchases, is issuing this solicitation for the purpose of establishing a master agreement contract for Gibraltar Cable Barrier Parts. This contract aims to provide necessary replacement parts for the Gibraltar cable systems used by KYTC Districts on an as-needed basis. The goal is to ensure that KYTC can maintain its infrastructure effectively and efficiently.

Work Details
The contract involves providing various parts for the Gibraltar TL 4 – 4 Cable System, including but not limited to:
- Anchor bolts and nuts (Section 813)
- Galvanizing (Bolts, nuts, & washers) per AASHTO M 232
- Steel fittings hardware per AASHTO M 30
- Galvanized ¾ inch diameter, 3x7 wire rope construction cable meeting AASHTO M30 type I class A coating with a minimum breaking strength of 39,000 pounds.
- Socketed posts fabricated from materials meeting ASTM A-36 or greater steel and galvanized after fabrication.
- Swaged fittings and turnbuckles capable of handling tensile loads without yielding to 36,800 pounds.
- End terminals compliant with NCHRP Report 350 test level 3 requirements.

The quantities listed in the solicitation are estimates based on anticipated usage; KYTC is not obligated to purchase any specific quantity. The minimum value for delivery orders against this contract is $10,000.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period will begin no earlier than November 1, 2024, and will expire on October 31, 2025. There is an option to renew the contract for four additional one-year periods upon mutual agreement between both parties.

Place of Performance
The successful bidder will be required to ship products to any point within the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
