Electrical Services - Cabling

Background
The solicitation is issued by Johnson County, Kansas Government for electrical services specifically related to cabling. The purpose of this contract is to enhance communication infrastructure by running coaxial and fiber optic cables from the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) radio room to the roof of the administrative building. This initiative aligns with the county's mission to ensure effective emergency management and communication capabilities.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for running six (6) 50 ohm coax cables, three (3) fiber optic cables, and one (1) rotor cable from the EOC radio room to the roof of the administrative building. The work includes:
- Providing adequate lightning protection for each cable run.
- Using coax cables that are equal in loss to LMR 400 or better.
- Running the cable horizontally in a drop ceiling for approximately 80 feet before transitioning vertically to the penthouse.
- Connecting coax and rotor cables to an antenna on the roof as determined by the emergency management point of contact.
- Ensuring that fiber runs have media connectors to Cat 6 on both ends.
The administrative building consists of a basement, three occupied floors, a machinery penthouse, and a flat roof where antennas will be located.

Period of Performance
The contract period is expected to commence upon award and is anticipated to be completed within a specified timeframe following project initiation.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Johnson County Administrative Building located at 111 S. Cherry Street, Olathe, KS 66061.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must certify that they have not been debarred or suspended from participating in Federal Assistance programs. Additionally, bidders must comply with federal funding requirements as outlined in Appendix A, including adherence to various federal provisions related to labor standards and procurement practices.
