Fion Optical Transmission System Upgrade And Video Distribution Router Additions Phase 4

Background
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is seeking proposals for the FION Optical Transmission System Upgrade and Video Distribution Router Additions – Phase 4. This initiative aims to enhance the existing optical transmission systems and video distribution capabilities across various sites in Florida.

The contract supports the agency's mission of improving transportation infrastructure and services throughout the state.

Work Details
The contract involves the provision of optical transmission system upgrades and video distribution router additions at multiple locations. Specific tasks include:

1. Furnishing and installing optical routed systems at various sites including Milton DOT, Holt, Mossy Head, Caryville, Chipley, Aspalaga, Midway Operations, Tallahassee PSC, and others as detailed in the proposal documents.
2. Installation of Nokia 7250 IXR-R6 and Nokia 7750 SAR-a8 equipment including chassis, power supplies, IO modules, CPU cards, fan trays, and various optical components.
3. The scope includes detailed engineering plans, fiber characterization, site surveys, equipment staging, and compliance with technical specifications outlined in Exhibit 'A'.
4. The proposal must also address MBE participation as part of the project requirements.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon execution and will be effective for a duration of five years.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed statewide across various locations specified in the solicitation documents.
