Marathon Medical Awarded $15 Million DLA Medical/Surgical Electronic Catalog (ECAT) Contract

Marathon Medical Corp. of Aurora, Colorado, has been added to a Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support multiple-award contract for medical and surgical supplies offered through DLA’s Electronic Catalog, or ECAT. The award has a maximum value of $15 million. It joins a five-year contracting vehicle first awarded in September 2023, through which participating suppliers compete for orders. The medical/surgical ECAT procurement is a total small-business set-aside.

Medical/Surgical ECAT Details

Marathon will make medical and surgical products available through ECAT, DLA’s online channel for government customers to review and compare participating suppliers’ commercial catalogs and place orders. DLA Troop Support Medical uses ECAT alongside other purchasing methods to supply medical materiel. The catalog arrangement gives customers access to competing suppliers rather than committing the vehicle’s full value to any one company.

The underlying contract covers medical and surgical supplies and equipment for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies. It is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity arrangement with fixed prices subject to economic price adjustment, according to the September 2023 award announcement. Award and Contractor Background

Marathon’s addition continues DLA’s expansion of the vehicle since its initial awards in September 2023. Early awards included a maximum $49.5 million contract for Buffalo Supply in September 2023 and a maximum $48.26 million contract for Lovell Government Services in January 2024. DLA later announced a maximum $49.5 million award for Affirmative Solutions in January 2026. Those figures are contract ceilings, not amounts already ordered.

DLA began the current medical/surgical ECAT vehicle after an earlier multiple-award procurement cycle for similar supplies that was awarded in 2019. The current solicitation record says a replacement solicitation incorporated the original solicitation and its amendments after a procurement-system error prevented further amendments to the original.
