The U.S. Air Force announced it has awarded a contract for Automatic Test Systems (ATS) Acquisition-I to 32 companies, including ABL Technologies, Advanced Testing Technologies, and Booz Allen, with a combined ceiling value of $980 million. The contract is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ), multiple award vehicle.

Work to be Completed Under ATS Acquisition-I Contract

The ATS Acquisition-I contract provides for rapid support and sustainment of the full life cycle of both legacy and future commercial and non-commercial products and services within the Air Force’s Automatic Test Systems Division portfolio. This includes maintenance, modernization, engineering, and integration of test systems used to ensure the reliability and performance of critical military equipment.

Under this IDIQ contract, the selected vendors will deliver a wide range of solutions, such as:

  • Design, development, and procurement of new automatic test systems
  • Upgrades and modifications to existing test equipment
  • Engineering support for troubleshooting and sustaining fielded systems
  • Integration of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies
  • Logistics, training, and documentation support

The contract is structured to allow for the rapid issuance of task orders in response to evolving mission requirements. This flexibility is intended to ensure that Air Force maintenance operations can keep pace with technological advances and address obsolescence issues in testing hardware and software.

Automatic Test Systems are essential for diagnosing faults in complex avionics, electronics, and weapons systems across a variety of Air Force platforms. By leveraging this multi-award contract, the Air Force aims to streamline acquisition timelines and foster competition among industry partners.

The place of performance will vary based on individual task orders but is expected to include key Air Force logistics centers as well as contractor facilities nationwide. The contract is open to both large and small businesses, supporting a diverse industrial base.
