Government Description
Dredge vessel engineering services provided for the Marine Design Center (MDC), the Army corps of engineers’ national center of expertise for naval architecture and marine engineering, focusing on vessel design and analysis for dredges and other vessels with hull length at waterline (LWL) greater than 150 feet. Includes Feasibility Studies, Naval Architecture, Marine and Electrical Engineering, Hybrid Power System Engineering, Dredging Engineering, Regulatory Compliance (Abs, USCG, Api), Vessel Overhauls, Energy Efficiency Optimization, Propulsion Evaluation And Design, Structural Modeling (FEA), Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses, tank testing, sea keeping and motion analyses, load management program development, dynamic positioning system analyses, hopper pump-out mooring system analyses, acoustic and vibration engineering, preliminary through detailed vessel design, vessel laser scans, photogrammetry, sea trials support, vessel inspections, shipyard engineering phase support, and shipyard construction inspections. Additional work performed under this contract includes engineering support for repowering vessels, replacement of dustpan dredges, bow thruster CFD analysis, reliability upgrades, audio gauging and vibration level assessments, and construction phase services for medium class hopper dredges. Related design studies, analysis, reports, and vessel inclining tests are also included.
