Government Description
Manufacture of heavy-duty flat rail cars. Includes providing all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision necessary to design and build type a heavy-duty flat rail cars at camp carroll for transporting M1 and M88 tanks, including development of specifications, shop drawings, and engineering calculations. The rail cars must have a 70 metric ton load capacity, a tie-down system, air brakes, roller bearings, roller-bearing truck assemblies, and a wooden platform with four lengthwise channels for chain-tie-down assemblies, and must meet clearance requirements for tunnels and stations throughout the republic of korea (ROK). A total of 53 units are to be delivered.
