Government Description
Seven (7) day platelet concentrate – blood products & blood components. Blood products, including whole blood, single donor plasma, cryoprecipitate, platelet concentrate, and related components, provided to Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) for use in treating acute hemorrhage in trauma and surgical patients, preventing coagulopathy in oncology patients, and enabling disease management through therapeutic plasma and red blood cell exchange. Products are manufactured in accordance with FDA guidance/code of federal regulations and aabb standards from an FDA licensed and aabb accredited facility, with delivery by 24-HOUR courier service to BAMC, jbsa - fort SAM Houston, Texas, meeting stat, asap, and routine order timelines. Additional product modifications and testing, such as rare antigen typing, sickle cell screening, hla typing, genetic rbc phenotyping, component washing, irradiation, and product splitting, may be performed based on patient needs.
