Government Description
Mobile cardiac monitoring services provided to veterans at the Lebanon VA medical center. The contractor supplies portable event electrocardiogram (ECG) monitors that transmit encrypted data wirelessly, monitored daily by certified technicians, with results reported in a hipaa-compliant online venue and/or by fax for physician interpretation. Monitors feature algorithms to detect atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, bradycardia, and asystole, allow patient symptom notification, and store up to 30 days of continuous data with high sensitivity and specificity. For severe cardiac events, on-call VA cardiologists are alerted immediately by telephone, and patients receive necessary supplies during the monitoring period at no additional cost.
