Government Description
NWS NEXRAD tower maintenance services include technical evaluations, support for life-cycle maintenance, and catastrophic recovery of existing next generation weather radar (NEXRAD) WSR-88D radar towers. Work involves inspection and engineering evaluation, structural repair and replacement, restoration of galvanic coatings, and delivery of engineering data and change proposals, including tower inspection reports and repairs using astm A-780 standard practices. Provides all necessary materials to restore towers to like-new condition and submits engineering change proposals if non-oem parts are used. Services are performed at various WSR-88D radar tower sites across the United States and overseas, including locations such as corpus christi, TX; alpine, MI; melbourne, FL; mobile, AL; key west, FL; miami, FL; midland, TX; Portland, or; Fort Cavazos, TX; holloman AFB, NM; jacksonville, FL; edwards AFB, CA; hammond, LA; and kadena AB, Japan.
