May 2016: By Light Professional IT Services Inc., Arlington, Virginia, was awarded a competitive firm-fixed-price contract for a 10-year indefeasible right-of-use dark fiber, equipment, and operations and maintenance support.  The face value of this action is $10,077,852 funded by fiscal 2015 and 2016 procurement appropriation.  The total cumulative face value of the contract is $15,042,715.  The period of performance of this contract consists of a base period of one-year with nine one-year option periods.  Performance will be at two locations in Georgia, two locations in Alabama, and one location in Florida.  Proposals were solicited via the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) webpage at fedbizopps.gov, and four proposals were received.  The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, is the contracting activity  (HC1013-16-C-0005).
