Museum Maintenance Assistant Support IACB's MPI

Background
The Indian Arts and Crafts Board (IACB)/Museum of the Plains Indian (MPI) is located in Browning, Montana on the Blackfeet Reservation. The IACB/MPI requires a Contractor-provided full-time Museum Assistant to assist with various duties including grounds upkeep and general facility repair.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide one full-time Museum Assistant to work at the MPI from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, five days a week. The specific tasks include:

1. Assisting with mowing the museum lawn, trimming bushes and trees, edging sidewalks and curbs, and other landscaping duties as assigned.

2. Cleaning museum restrooms, glass and plexiglass exhibit cases, sweeping and mopping museum galleries, taking out trash from the museum building, and performing other janitorial duties as assigned.

3. Collecting garbage from museum grounds and parking lot and disposing of it in appropriate receptacles.

4. Assisting with basic routine electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work.

5. Assisting with basic carpentry and painting tasks.

6. Assisting with snow removal during winter months.

7. Assisting with special maintenance projects such as fence repair, concrete repair, drywall/plaster repairs, and moving equipment/exhibit cases.

8. Monitoring grounds and covering front desk duties including answering phones and greeting visitors.

9. Reporting any issues or concerns to on-site museum staff.
