Prototype Stripline Kickers

Background
Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA), operator of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) under a Prime Contract with the U.S. Department of Energy, is soliciting quotes for the design, fabrication, assembly, testing, documentation, and delivery of one stripline kicker prototype for the swap-out injection kicker system of the Electron Storage Ring (ESR) at the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC).

The goal is to maintain high average electron spin polarization during luminosity operation by periodically replacing depolarized electron bunches with freshly polarized ones.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the design, fabrication, assembly, testing, documentation, and delivery of one stripline kicker prototype. Key specifications include:
- Active length of electrodes: 900 mm
- Total installation length: not exceeding 1200 mm
- Required deflection angle: ~125 µrad @ 18 GeV with +/-27 kV pulse supply voltage
- Minimum physical aperture: 30 mm diameter
- Cooling requirements due to RF power losses up to 4500 W.

The work includes detailed mechanical design completion, RF mockup fabrication and verification, and prototype manufacturing. All engineering models and documentation must be submitted in reviewable electronic formats.

Bidder Requirements
