Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) is required to provide engineering and technical support services for operations, maintenance and repairs in support of the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) Program. The SDTS Program consists of both the SDTS and Test Ship Remote Control System (TSRCS). The TSRCS provides the remote capability for the SDTS to operate in an unmanned capacity at sea in support of high-risk live-fire Test and Evaluation (T&E) events The SDTS primarily supports T&E initiatives related to Engineering and Combat Systems, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), the Aegis Weapon System (AWS), and various weapons, control, and engineering systems as needed by the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy (DoN).
