Description

Produce the Vital Torso Protection (VTP) subsystem of the Soldier Protection System (SPS). The VTP includes the Enhanced Small Arms Protective Insert (ESAPI), X-Small Arms Protective Insert (XSAPI), Enhanced Side Ballistic
Insert (ESBI), and X-Side Ballistic Insert (XSBI). The VTP is one of five subsystems to the SPS. The other four include Torso and Extremity Protection (TEP), the Integrated Head Protection System (IHPS), Transition Combat
Eye Protection (TCEP), and the Integrated Soldier Sensor System (ISSS). Contracts will provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and nonpersonnel services.
