Description

Support the Department of Energy (DOE) in establishing a reliable supply chain for High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU), including a domestic enrichment capability. This vehicle supports the Energy Act of 2020 and the Nuclear Fuel Security Act of 2023, aiming to increase the availability of HALEU for civilian domestic research, development, demonstration, and commercial use.
Work under the vehicle includes providing engineering data and environmental information needed for NEPA compliance, obtaining NRC licenses, certifications, permits, and all other approvals necessary. It also involves technology identification, development, design needed for HALEU production and storage, transportation coordination, logistics support to DOE as required, safety analyses and other trade-off studies.
