EXHIBIT A
SCOPE OF WORK
BRICK AND CMU MASONRY
This Scope of Work is intended to further supplement all of the Subcontract Documents and shall be used in conjunction with and in addition to the Drawings and Specifications. In case of discrepancies between the Scope of Work, and any other Subcontract Document, the more stringent requirement shall be applied which includes greater quantities or higher quality of work.
Provide all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, fixtures, plant, tools, transportation, taxes, insurance, fringes, overhead and profit, shop drawings, submittal data, mock-ups, permits, testing and special testing, inspections, licenses, certifications, warranties, asbuilts, operation and maintenance manuals, training, hoisting, layout, maintenance agreements, safety devices and equipment, tools, incidentals, traffic control, personnel parking, support, material and labor escalation, storage, and all other costs, services, and facilities, necessary to fabricate, furnish, install, and commission the complete work required under this Subcontract Agreement including but not limited to:
A. Furnish and install all BRICK AND CMU (CONCRETE MASONRY UNIT) MASONRY work including but not limited to:
1. Furnish all labor, material and equipment to complete all Brick and CMU masonry work, including without limitation CMU construction, brick veneer, and reinforcing as described in and shown on the contract documents, the full contents of which are listed in Schedule B Document List of the Subcontract Agreement. Complete work that is currently shown, and that which can be reasonably anticipated to be included for this project. No exclusion from limitations in plans and specifications shall be reason for omitting the appurtenances or accessories necessary to complete this work. No Change Orders shall be issued to Subcontractor unless the Owner revises the scope of work shown on the contract documents.
2. Including masonry anchors, reinforcing installation, grout, dowels, wire reinforcing, filled cells, etc as required for a complete installation.
3. Control and expansion joints.
4. Furnish and install all masonry grout cell fill including grout pump.
5. Placement into masonry of embedded items supplied by others.
6. Installation of hollow metal door frames within CMU walls.
7. Cleaning of all CMU work complete, including masonry anchors, reinforcing, grout, dowels, accessories, etc. for block including block fill and removal of grout stains to a condition acceptable for waterproofing, drywall furring channels or painting as applicable.
8. Rub and point all exposed masonry.
9. Build-up mortar at base of walls to compensate for normal concrete footing tolerances so that CMU courses are level.
10. Cut outs for work by other trades that sets in or passes through CMU including miscellaneous metal embeds, electrical junction boxes, etc, provided layout dimensions are available at time of wall construction.
11. Temporary bracing of vertical rebar greater than 12 exposed length as required to maintain it plumb and safe against wind and other loads.
12. Provide mock-up of CMU, grout and grouted assemblies for testing by others.
13. Temporary bracing of walls if required due to wind or other loads.
14. Coordinate all layout between mechanical shop drawings, architectural and structural contract drawings.
15. Installation of masonry in more than one area at a time may be required. Installation in completely open areas cleared of all other trades and stored materials cannot be guaranteed.
16. All weather protection necessary for completion and proper curing of work of this scope.
17. Weep hole ventilators.
18. Furnish and install face brick including but not limited to all fasteners, anchors, mortar and any other misc. appurtenances required for a complete installation per the contract documents.
19. All metal flashings to be 7 oz copper, as required by the specifications.
20. All above grade cast in place masonry concrete bond beams.
21. Rigid Insulation.
22. Dumpster enclosure. Brick anchors, ties, and accessories as required for a complete installation.
23. Brick veneer wall system at main building.
24. Brick veneer wall system at dumpster enclosure.
25. Temporary bracing of CMU walls, if required, during construction.
26. Any demolition required to correct defective or non-conforming work installed by this Subcontractor.
B. EXCLUSIONS:
1. Grout and Mortar Testing.
2. Permitting.
3. Caulking or sealing of control joints.
4. Dampproofing
5. Masonry reinforcing steel and any loose steel lintels material cost. Labor to install is included.
6. Site utilities for construction (water, electric, dumpster).
7. Top of wall anchors.
C. CLARIFICATIONS:
1. Brick veneer to match adjacent Marby Hall.
2. Drawing AE304, details 1, 2, and 3 show a truss bearing elevation of 28 11 ; this is incorrect. The correct bearing elevation is 29 8 .
3. Drawing AE504, which shows the dumpster enclosure, was not included in the documents provided originally; however, it was provided via bid addendum #002 from Jim Klepzig/Sauer, Inc. on 2-21-2011. This enclosure is included in the subcontract price.
4. Seismic anchors and mortar net are indicated on drawings AE303 and AE304; however, they are not required for this project, and are not included in the subcontract price. Standard brick anchors and ties are required, and are included in the subcontract price.
