Overview

Sub Description
Platinum crucibles and lids: The crucibles will be used to melt and re-crystalize a material consisting of oxides of lead, magnesium, indium, niobium, and titanium. Platinum is the only known material capable of containing the molten liquid with this composition. However, it is also known tht the lead oxide component of the melt can attack the platinum crucible at weak points including weld seams, thin areas, bends, and other manufacturing defects This initial purchase will allow the end user to determine which manufacturing process yields the more robust crucible for containing the crystal growth process.
