Provide conceptual and detailed mechanical engineering design services on new electronic based consumer, medical and industrial products as directed by Contractor. Perform design tradeoff studies to compare various design alternatives and provide summary results, recommendations and discussions. Research, identify, and assess potential suppliers of components, materials and processes including contract manufacturers. Provide preliminary cost estimates of both parts and tooling as requested. These estimates can be based on expert judgment with budgetary input from potential suppliers. Perform research on selected technologies from multiple suppliers and provide summaries and pro/con tradeoffs of the available alternatives Procure, assemble and evaluate mechanical prototypes As mutually agreed in advance, occasionally work on-site at Contractor s facilities for up to two weeks at a time. Preliminary mechanical designs of new and revised products Assembled prototypes Design tradeoff study summary reports Component/Material/Process/Technology research with reports Create and update an action item list of activities currently being worked on and the history of them (Contractor will provide prioritization of the activities.) As directed by Contractor, conduct design and risk reviews of product designs and document these activities in formal reports. Attend and participate in meetings via phone and in person at Contractor s facilities. All CAD data and any reports are to be provided in native format (i.e. Solidworks, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) Brief summary of work performed and deliverables completed for each period to be attached to invoice
