Includes planning, systems definition, technical specification support, user needs analysis, design alternatives, interoperability, manufacturing and quality control, test and evaluation, launch support, flight tests, orbital operations, and integration of space systems. Additional tasks involve technical advisory and assistance, engineering and technical analysis for policy, planning, programming, capability development, acquisition oversight, laboratory equipment installation, cloud computing integration, satellite ground services, network cabling, hardware/software maintenance, and specialized support for research, testing, and facility modifications.
