Prime Overview

Original Description
The contractor shall provide the personnel, materials, equipment, and facilities necessary to accomplish the gold mission as described in the gold concept study report, provide reports, reviews, and documentation for all aspects of the program, manage the activities of the science team, maintain the gold Science Data Center (SDC) at ucf, perform data reduction and analysis for three years after the completion of commissioning the gold instrument, present the scientific results in presentations and published papers, provide raw data and data products for archiving to an approved data archive, and is responsible for algorithm development and science planning and analysis of mission data and the publication of results. The gold project shall follow the guidelines of a mission of opportunity and the gold contract, with the Principal Investigator (PI) having sole responsibility for successful completion, delegating project management tasks to the Project Manager (PM) as appropriate, and the PM and staff supporting the PI as required, including scheduling and coordinating meetings and reviews, schedule control and reporting, subcontract management, configuration management and documentation, progress reports and reviews, and anomaly reporting activities. Additional work includes implementing the gold SDC, producing L1B and higher data products using processing code provided by gold team members, archiving all data products, transferring gold data to the NASA Space Physics Data Facility (SPDF), and participating in algorithm development, science planning, analysis of mission data, and publication of results. The work also involves providing expert advice for the continued development of science data processing and operations for gold stormtime and nighttime observations, developing and arranging science team meetings and teleconferences, participating in scientific analysis and validation of gold data, presenting findings at scientific meetings and in the open literature, supporting the operational data release process through assessment and evaluation of daily level 2 data products, and delivering inputs for the gold senior review.
