AML - Kuhns Run Park Portals

Background
The State of West Virginia, through its Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), is issuing a solicitation for construction services related to the Kuhns Run Park Portals project. The DEP's mission includes protecting the environment and ensuring compliance with state regulations, particularly concerning water quality and stormwater management.

This contract aims to facilitate construction activities while adhering to environmental standards and regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for various construction activities associated with the Kuhns Run Park Portals project. Key tasks include:
- Installation of erosion and sediment control measures prior to any land disturbance.
- Compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements regarding stormwater discharges associated with construction activities disturbing one acre or more.
- Preparation and implementation of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) that identifies potential pollution sources and outlines measures to mitigate them.
- Conducting inspections by a Qualified Person to ensure all installed controls are functioning correctly.
- Maintaining records of inspections and compliance documentation on-site throughout the duration of the project.
- Adhering to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations regarding construction practices, including obtaining necessary permits and approvals before commencing work.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to continue until all construction activities are completed, including stabilization of disturbed areas as required by the NPDES permit, which has an effective date from April 6, 2024, to April 5, 2029.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Kuhns Run Park located in West Virginia.
