Solar-Powered Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons

Background
The City of Madison, through its Traffic Engineering Division, is soliciting bids for the installation of Solar-Powered Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs). This initiative aims to enhance pedestrian safety at specified intersections within the city. Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the installation of Solar-Powered Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at two locations:
- Old Middleton Rd & North Eau Claire Rd
- Drake St & South Orchard St.

The work includes maintaining two-way traffic, ensuring access to driveways, and providing pedestrian crossings during construction. The materials specified include the Carmanah R920 MX 100 solar Connected Crosswalk System with various components such as yellow LED modules, flasher module harnesses, audible information devices, solar power modules, and batteries. The installation must adhere to the manufacturer's specifications and state standards for traffic control devices.

The work is expected to be completed by Friday, June 27, 2025.
