This service aims to enhance public transportation options within the city limits and a five-mile radius, particularly for disabled individuals. The program is subsidized with state and federal transit operating funds, emphasizing accessibility and efficient transportation solutions.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a door-to-door, demand-responsive, advanced reservation shared-ride taxi service available seven days a week. Key requirements include:

- A minimum of two vehicles capable of carrying at least three passengers.
- Operation of an automated dispatch system staffed during operating hours.
- Assistance for disabled passengers in entering and exiting vehicles.
- Maintenance of communication systems for dispatching and user interaction.
- Record keeping for vehicle maintenance, trip logs, and driver training.
- Compliance with federal regulations regarding drug and alcohol testing for drivers.

The service must operate under specific hours outlined in the proposal, with a target pick-up window of less than 15 minutes from the scheduled time.

Period of Performance
