Railroad Inspection Service

Background
The City of Madison Traffic Engineering is soliciting bids for Railroad Inspection Services. This initiative aims to ensure compliance with the Public Service Commission's requirements for Joint Inspection Reports between the railroad and traffic light maintainers. The goal is to verify that traffic lights and crossing lights are properly sequenced, ensuring safety at crossings.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive services including:

1. **Document Research**: Gather necessary documents related to the original design of the preemption system, including circuit drawings, traffic signal controller settings, and event log data.

2. **Review Event Log Data**: Analyze event logs from the railroad prior to annual onsite inspections to identify necessary changes.

3. **Field Testing**: Coordinate with stakeholders for field testing, simulating train scenarios and documenting results during inspections at 19 specified locations in Madison.

4. **Final Product Package**: Deliver a complete inspection form and all documentation in both hard copy and electronic formats for each location inspected.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to cover a period of one year, with inspections occurring annually or as required by modifications to the warning time system.

Place of Performance
The inspections will take place at various locations throughout the City of Madison, specifically at 19 designated railroad crossing sites.
