Professional Design Services-CTH E-Oconomowoc River Tributary Structure

Background
The Waukesha County Department of Public Works is seeking the services of an engineering consulting firm for the facility development process related to the CTH E Oconomowoc River Tributary Structure. The goal is to design and prepare preliminary plans, final plans, and PS&E documents necessary for the replacement or rehabilitation of the existing structure. The project site is located in the Town of Merton, and all phases of design and construction will be funded by Waukesha County.

Work Details
The consultant will provide a range of services including: conducting surveys, soil borings, preparing preliminary roadway and structure plans, performing structure inspections, generating reports, coordinating with agencies for permits, utility coordination, finalizing roadway and structure plans, conducting meetings, and producing Plans, Specifications & Estimates (PS&E).

Specific tasks include evaluating the current condition of the existing concrete box culvert and developing feasible short-term solutions while maintaining hydraulic profiles. Long-term options may also be developed if authorized by the County. The project aims to ensure that any new structures can convey a 100-year return interval discharge without raising backwater levels significantly.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to be executed by October 1st, 2025, with work commencing immediately thereafter. The anticipated completion date for various phases is no later than December 31st, 2027.

Place of Performance
The project will take place in the Town of Merton, Wisconsin.

Bidder Requirements
Firms must be on the current WDOT Roster of Eligible Engineering Consultants and registered to do business in Wisconsin prior to award. All sub-consultants must be licensed in Wisconsin and have been in business for at least five years. Proposals must include identification of any sub-consultants involved.
