Let's Talk Streets Public Involvement Strategy

Background
The City of Madison, through its Traffic Engineering agency, is seeking proposals for the Let’s Talk Streets Public Involvement Strategy. This initiative aims to enhance public engagement in transportation and traffic safety projects, building on existing resources like the Complete Green Streets Guide and the Public Participation Resource Guide.

The project is funded by the US Department of Transportation's Safe Streets for All program, which supports efforts to achieve zero roadway deaths through a Safe System Approach.

Work Details
The selected vendor will develop an engagement plan and toolkit for transportation-related projects. Key tasks include:
1) Conducting an inventory of current transportation projects and their engagement methods;
2) Developing a comprehensive Public Involvement Strategy that integrates existing resources;
3) Creating a toolkit with engagement templates and technology recommendations;
4) Providing project management including a schedule to meet a completion deadline by January 2026, and regular meetings with City staff.

The consultant will also be required to submit monthly invoices detailing hours worked and project status.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence in mid-2025 and conclude in mid-2026.

Place of Performance
The work will primarily take place within the City of Madison, Wisconsin.
