Garage Door Replacement for Fire Station

Background
The City of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, is seeking bids for the replacement of garage doors at Fire Station 1. This project aims to enhance the functionality and security of the fire station by installing modern automated roll-up garage doors. The City’s Building Maintenance Department is responsible for overseeing this project as part of their commitment to maintaining public safety facilities.

Work Details
The contract involves replacing 10 automated roll-up garage doors, including tracks, openers, and remote controls at Fire Station #1 located at 135 N Bristol Street, Sun Prairie, WI. The specific requirements include:
- Replacement of 7 doors measuring 14’8” x 14’8”, 1 door measuring 11’ x 12’, and 2 doors measuring 12’ x 11’.
- The preferred brand for the replacement doors is Clopay Extreme Series.
- Controllers must support smart monitoring, secure remote operation, and driver hazard detection and warnings.
- Proposals must include detailed descriptions of proposed equipment, insulation R-values for the doors, warranty coverage, delivery time and installation details, recommended optional equipment with costs, service schedules, itemized project pricing, bid bond details, and total bid amount.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence within fourteen (14) days after the Notice to Proceed and must be completed by December 31, 2025. If this deadline is not met, liquidated damages of $500 per day will apply for each day of delay.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a bid security in the form of a certified check or bid bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid amount. They are required to comply with all federal and state OSHA regulations and Wisconsin Prevailing Wage Laws. Additionally, bidders must demonstrate qualifications to perform the work by providing evidence such as financial data and previous experience within five days upon request from the City.
