Architectural & Engineering For Park High School

Background
The Racine Unified School District (RUSD), located in southeastern Wisconsin, is the fifth-largest school district in the state, serving over 16,000 students across seven cities and villages. The district is seeking proposals from qualified architectural and engineering firms to provide services for the renovation of Park High School as part of a referendum project aimed at modernizing classrooms, upgrading bathrooms, improving infrastructure, and enhancing safety and security. CG Schmidt will serve as the Owner's Representative/Construction Manager as Advisor for this project.

Work Details
The selected A/E firm will be responsible for a comprehensive range of services including:

- Developing design options
- Providing engineering services related to structure, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, telecommunications, and data systems
- Civil engineering services
- Obtaining all necessary local building and zoning approvals
- Preparing meeting agendas and minutes
- Selecting interior finishes and furniture
- Conducting site surveys and geotechnical investigations
- Completing environmental assessments if required
- Leading stakeholder meetings to validate project needs
- Developing detailed design documents throughout various phases including Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), and Construction Documents (CD)
- Facilitating bidding processes
- Providing construction administration support.

The project budget is approximately $41.5 million with an anticipated construction timeline from June 2027 to December 2028.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on May 1, 2026, with various phases of work scheduled through the completion of construction in December 2028.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Park High School located at 1901 12th St., Racine, WI 53405.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must be registered to do business in Wisconsin within ten business days after award. They must not be on any debarred contractor lists and should have a minimum of five years of verifiable experience in similar projects. Proposals should include evidence of financial capability, personnel qualifications, and past performance records. Additionally, firms are encouraged to promote diversity by hiring local under-represented individuals as part of their workforce.
