Description
Background
Yakima County is seeking proposals for the Public Safety Radio System Project to upgrade the public safety communications for various agencies within the county. The goal is to design, build, implement, test, and commission a countywide radio system with a public safety-grade backhaul network. This system, referred to as the Yakima County Radio Network (YCRN), aims to support the communication needs of all public safety agencies in Yakima County while ensuring that existing systems remain operational during the transition.
Work Details
The project includes:
1) A complete turnkey radio network including infrastructure and subscriber radios
2) P25 compliant subscriber radios.
The selected vendor will be responsible for designing and implementing a system capable of supporting multiple public safety agencies while ensuring compliance with technical requirements outlined in the RFP. Specific tasks include conducting site assessments, installation planning, documentation, training, and ongoing maintenance. The proposal must also address reliability requirements, network security, sustainability, and compliance with standards.
Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to extend through the completion of all phases of implementation and testing. Proposals must remain valid for at least 180 days from submission.
Place of Performance
The project will be performed within Yakima County, Washington.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a valid business license as required by Yakima Municipal Code and be registered with the State per Chapter 18.27 of the Revised Code of Washington. They must also provide proof of insurance covering commercial liability, automobile liability, employer's liability, and professional liability as specified in the RFP. Additionally, bidders must certify that they are not currently suspended or debarred from federal contracts.
