Vashon Pool Renovation Project

Background
The Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) is a regional transportation, land use, and economic development planning agency. Its mission is to advance solutions to achieve a thriving, racially equitable, and sustainable Puget Sound region through leadership, visionary planning, and collaboration.

PSRC works with cities, towns, counties, ports, transit agencies, Tribes, and state and regional governments to achieve a sustainable and prosperous region. The agency is designated as the Metropolitan Planning Organization and Economic Development District under federal laws.

Work Details
The consultant will provide PSRC with strategic information and guidance on federal affairs and funding. The scope of work includes:

1. Monitoring & Analysis of Federal Activity:
- Provide timely updates on federal legislation affecting transportation, housing, growth management, climate change, etc.
- Deliver written updates on key federal developments.
- Present updates to the Board and relevant committees as needed.

2. Federal Strategy & Advocacy:
- Advise on the formulation of PSRC’s federal agenda.
- Draft letters outlining positions on key federal issues.
- Collaborate with other MPOs on mutual interests.

3. Maintain Relationships with Key Federal Stakeholders:
- Assist in maintaining contact with federal officials.
- Coordinate meetings for PSRC staff in Washington D.C.

4. Understanding and Accessing Federal Funding:
- Provide information on federal funding opportunities.
- Assist with grants advocacy and tracking relevant grants.

5. Communications:
- Conduct regular check-in calls with PSRC staff.

Period of Performance
The anticipated term of the contract is from January 2025 through June 2025, with a potential extension to December 2026 upon budget approval.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed primarily in the Puget Sound region but may also involve travel to Washington D.C. for meetings.
