Silverstone Systems LLC Switch EV Kit & Trainers

Background
Skagit Valley College is contemplating awarding a sole source purchase to Silverstone Systems, LLC (dba: DAKTIC) for the Switch EV Kit and Trainers necessary to provide industry-specific training. The equipment list was included as part of the Career Launch Equipment grant funding proposal to the State Board of Community and Technical Colleges.
Daktic is the sole provider of the Switch EV system, CAN BUS Diagnostic Trainer system, and CAN BUS Multiplex Trainer system, each with specific features and curriculum for student instruction.

Work Details
The contract involves the purchase of the following equipment with software and accessories: SWITCH EV KIT – LITHIUM ION, PM DRIVE (Qty: 1), CAN BUS DIAGNOSTIC TRAINER (Qty: 1), and CAN BUS MULTIPLEX TRAINER (Qty: 1).
The specifications for the equipment were used during the project development process to accommodate the student’s needs and build a collaborative learning environment.
The Switch EV Kit includes a lithium-ion vehicle designed for assembly, testing, disassembly, and comes with a full curriculum for student instruction.
The CAN BUS Diagnostic Trainer is made out of a vehicle with 11 computers modeling a modern car, providing more complicated network diagnostics training for students. It also includes a full curriculum for student instruction.
The CAN BUS Multiplex Trainer is designed to teach the fundamentals of basic network systems and includes a board with various items modeling a simple system, along with a full curriculum for student instruction.

Period of Performance
The deadline for offerors contemplating the requirements is 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
In the absence of any other qualified systems, Skagit Valley College intends to make a sole source award via purchase order at an approximate fee of $141,860.78.

Place of Performance
The place of performance is Skagit Valley College.
Offerors are required to include installation/freight for the equipment and provide documentation and references detailing their ability to meet the College’s needs.
