Work Details
The selected consultant will develop a proposal that includes:
1. A process recognizing variations in school district sizes and financial capabilities, including:
- Categorizations of comparable school districts for equitable project prioritization.
- A prioritization process for state funding requests based on factors such as prototypical designs, projected enrollment, and facility condition.
2. Recommendations on new or modified formulas for determining state and local shares of project costs, considering factors like prototypical design incorporation, financial capacity, market construction prices, and future eligibility impacts.
3. Policies regarding allowable space types to meet instructional needs and adapt to enrollment changes.
4. Identification of an entity or advisory committee for evaluating project applications.
5. Development of prototypical school designs aimed at enhancing learning environments while reducing costs.
6. A phased schedule for implementing recommended changes that respects existing district planning and bonds.

The contract period is estimated from November 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.
