The purpose of this contract is to establish an agreement between HCA and the Washington Society of Addiction Medicine, the Washington State chapter of the ASAM, the nation's leading professional society dedicated to increasing access and improving the quality of addiction treatment; educating physicians, other medical professionals and the public, to provide technical assistance to hospitals to help facilitate a rapid methadone induction pilot program in accordance with ESSB 5950.
Background
The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) is entering into a contract with the Washington Society of Addiction Medicine (WSAM), the state chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). This contract aims to enhance access to and improve the quality of addiction treatment by providing technical assistance to hospitals for a rapid methadone induction pilot program, as mandated by ESSB 5950.

Work Details
The Contractor, WSAM, will provide professional services including:
1. Technical assistance to hospitals for implementing a rapid methadone induction pilot program.
2. Collaboration with HCA staff to ensure effective service delivery.
3. Regular updates and completion of project plans and reports.
4. Attendance at meetings and provision of high-quality services as per performance expectations outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).

The total compensation for these services shall not exceed $250,000, inclusive of all fees, taxes, and expenses.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on the date of execution and continue through June 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed primarily in Washington State, specifically at acute care hospitals contracted with HCA.
