Background
The Pierce County Planning & Public Works Sewer Division is issuing this solicitation for the construction of a ferric chloride chemical addition system at the Northwest Landing Wastewater Pump Station located in DuPont, Washington.
The goal of this contract is to enhance the wastewater treatment capabilities of the facility while ensuring that operations remain uninterrupted during construction.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for a range of construction activities including:
- Constructing a below-grade reinforced concrete foundation with spill containment walls;
- Installing a polyethylene storage tank;
- Installing a ferric chloride compatible pump system;
- Constructing a steel roof structure;
- Installing emergency shower/eyewash stations;
- Erecting chain-link fences and gates;
- Building stairs;
- Installing various electrical conduits, water and chemical piping, cables, wiring, and other necessary appurtenances for a functional system.
The chemical pump system will include control and alarm panels connected to the existing SCADA system. Additionally, the work includes extending power cables and conduits from the existing motor control center to contractor-provided electrical panels and tapping into the existing water service line for emergency showers. The pump station must remain operational throughout all construction activities.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of one hundred fifty (150) calendar days from the date of the 'Notice to Proceed'.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Northwest Landing Wastewater Pump Station located at 1220 Wharf Road, DuPont, Washington.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a current certificate of registration as a contractor in compliance with chapter 18.27 RCW, possess a Washington Unified Business Identifier (UBI) number, have Industrial Insurance coverage for employees working in Washington, have a Washington Employment Security Department number, and have a Washington Department of Revenue state excise tax registration number.
Bidders must not be disqualified from bidding on any public works contract under RCW 39.06.010 or 39.12.065(3). Additionally, bidders must comply with apprenticeship utilization requirements if applicable.
