Description

The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of sampling and testing materials for improvements to the following project. Materials that may be sampled and tested included asphalt, crushed aggregate and concrete:Central Bremerton Force Main Replacement Project: Construction of 3,100 lf of 14-inch and 18-inch PVC sewer force main, construction of new sections of sidewalk and curb ramps at isolated locations, storm sewer relocation and replacement, removal of stumps and trees at 1912 Gregory Way, replacement of a surge chamber at Gregory Way and High Street, a sewer bypass and pavement patch in the intersection of Burwell and Warren Avenue, and planing and repaving 1st street from South Mongomery Avenue to Naval Avenue.The construction project will begin in July 2025 and end in November 2025.
Background
The City of Bremerton is undertaking the Central Bremerton Force Main Replacement Project, funded by a Federal grant administered through the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC). The project aims to replace a damaged section of the force main and improve related infrastructure, aligning with the city's mission to enhance public utilities and services.

Work Details
The work includes sampling and testing materials such as asphalt, crushed aggregate, and concrete. The project involves the construction of approximately 3,100 linear feet of 14-inch and 18-inch PVC sewer force main. Additional tasks include constructing new sections of sidewalk and curb ramps, relocating storm sewers, removing stumps and trees at 1912 Gregory Way, replacing a surge chamber at Gregory Way and High Street, implementing a sewer bypass, patching pavement at Burwell and Warren Avenue intersection, and planing and repaving 1st Street from South Montgomery Avenue to Naval Avenue.

The contractor is also responsible for tree removal including stumps, trunks, limbs, slash, debris, and restoring homeowner landscaping post-construction.

Period of Performance
The construction project is scheduled to begin in July 2025 and is expected to be completed by November 2025. The contractor must complete all work within 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

The contract will be performed in Bremerton, Washington, specifically along Gregory Way, Naval Avenue, and 1st Street.
