Lake Chaplain Timber Staging and Transport Operation

Background
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is initiating this solicitation to secure proposals from firms for the sorting, staging, transporting, and loading/unloading of Douglas-fir trees ranging from 28-38 inches in diameter at breast height (DBH).

The trees will be relocated from City of Everett property to designated areas within DNR-managed lands. This initiative supports the DNR Watershed Resilience Action Plan's Large Wood Supply Initiative, which aims to benefit salmon and steelhead populations in the Snohomish Basin through river restoration projects.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary labor, equipment, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals for timber staging and transportation. The services include: sorting, staging, loading, hauling, and unloading Douglas-fir trees with preserved root-wads bucked to a minimum length of 85 feet.

The contractor is responsible for transporting the trees via a designated route to pre-approved drop-off locations on DNR managed lands (specifically at DNR Rock Pits). A total of 40 Douglas-fir trees are identified for this project across various units with specific DBH measurements outlined in the scope.

Period of Performance
The contract period is tentatively scheduled to begin on March 26, 2025, and end on April 10, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Snohomish County, Washington.
