Background
The Washington Corrections Center for Women (WCCW) is the largest women's prison in Washington State, located in unincorporated Pierce County near Gig Harbor. The Department of Enterprise Services is seeking an architect to provide design services for the replacement of roofs on several buildings within the facility. The current roofs have reached the end of their expected useful life and are rated as 'critical' condition.

Work Details
The scope of work includes design services for replacing 64,384 square feet of roofing on Buildings C, H, B, G, U, and W at WCCW. The project will also involve replacing roof insulation and any failing rooftop equipment such as HVAC systems, fans, or vents. Additionally, fall protection will be installed as needed.

The buildings involved are:
- Building C: Education building
- Building H: Mental health building
- Building B: Inside shift command building
- Building G: Close custody housing unit
- Building U: Gymnasium
- Building W: 20-bed minimum security unit annex.

The project aims to enhance energy efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and improve public safety by ensuring secure facilities.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to be executed in October 2025 with design services funded in the 2025-2027 biennium. Construction funding is also expected during this period.
