Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Request for Proposal

Background
The City of Federal Way is seeking an experienced consultant to guide the City in embracing and supporting the growing diversity of the community. The City is requesting proposals from qualified firms for the provision of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) consulting services. The contract will be awarded for one year with up to three additional one-year renewal options.

Work Details
The consultant is expected to provide diversity, equity, and inclusion services through the Department of Community Development. This includes organizing and facilitating staff training on DEI values and principles, providing support to the City’s Diversity Commission, assisting in the creation of a Language Access Plan, and participating in meetings with stakeholders, community-based organizations, and regional partners.

Period of Performance
The contract will follow a specific timetable:
Issue RFP on June 14, 2024;
Deadline for Submittal of Proposals on July 12, 2024 at 5:00 pm PST;
Interviews to be conducted in the last week of July or first week of August;
Notification of selected firm on August 9, 2024.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed in the City of Federal Way, Washington.
