City of White Salmon Fuel Break - Phase 1

Background
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is initiating this Solicitation to solicit proposals from firms to conduct fuels reduction work on approximately 28.2 acres of privately owned forest land along Highway 14, Dock Grade Road, and adjacent to Jewett Creek within Klickitat County, Washington. This work aims to provide beneficial hazardous fuels reduction work to the City of White Salmon, Washington, and enhance forest health by thinning dense, overstocked, diseased stands leaving a more resilient residual forest stand.
The project is in conjunction with fuels work on adjacent private and public lands to increase overall landscape resilience to wildfire and other forest health threats.

Work Details
The intent of this RFQQ is to procure hazardous wildland fuels reduction services under one contract to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire on approximately 28.2 acres of private forested lands along Highway 14, Dock Grade Road, and adjacent to Jewett Creek around the community of White Salmon, Washington. The project is located in Klickitat County, Washington.
Due to differences in terrain and treatment needs, the project area is split into three units. The successful contractor will provide supervision, labor, transportation, materials, equipment, and associated expenses for this fuels reduction project while meeting all industrial fire precaution level restrictions.

Period of Performance
The period of performance of any resulting contract is tentatively scheduled to begin no later than June 3, 2024, and end on December 31, 2025. The Agency reserves the right to extend the contract for up to one additional one-year period at its sole discretion.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Klickitat County, Washington.
