Call for Bid: Hot Mix Asphalt Materials

Background
Island County is issuing a call for bids for Hot Mix Asphalt Materials to support their public works projects. The contract aims to provide essential materials for road maintenance and construction, aligning with the county's mission to ensure safe and efficient transportation infrastructure.

The contract period is set from May 1, 2025, to May 1, 2026, or from the date of bid award, whichever occurs first.

Work Details
The contractor will supply the following Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) materials:
- HMA CL 3/8” – PG58H-22
- HMA CL 1/2” – PG58H-22
- Tack Coat Oil (CSS-1)

The total estimated quantity of HMA mix is approximately 4,700 tons. The materials must meet specific standards outlined in the specifications and be available at designated plant sites during the contract period. Delivery will be F.O.B. from the bidder’s plant site, with hauling conducted by Island County forces. The contractor must ensure that all materials conform to the specifications provided in Appendix A - Specifications and are fully permitted for production at the time of bid opening. Payment will be made monthly or bimonthly based on submitted invoices detailing quantities picked up by county crews.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from May 1, 2025, to May 1, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will take place in Coupeville, Washington, specifically at the designated plant sites as specified in the Bid Proposal.
