Battery Street Tunnel Future Park Site Design

Background
The City of Seattle, through its Seattle Parks and Recreation department, is seeking qualifications for the Battery Street Tunnel Future Park Site Design.

The goal of this project is to conduct an early design study for a proposed future park site at the former Battery Street Tunnel property located in Belltown. This initiative aims to engage the community in exploring potential park uses and goals, ultimately leading to a recommended conceptual design.

Work Details
The selected consultant will be responsible for conducting an early design study that includes initial public engagement to explore possible park uses and community goals.

The work will involve developing three schematic design options, followed by one preferred conceptual plan and cost estimate as the final deliverable. The project scope includes:
1) Initial public engagement;
2) Development of three schematic design options;
3) Creation of one preferred conceptual plan;
4) Cost estimation;
5) Thorough public engagement throughout each design phase.

If funding is secured, additional phases including construction document preparation and construction administration tasks may be added by amendment in the future.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution and is expected to continue until the completion of the initial design study, with potential extensions if additional phases are funded.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the former Battery Street Tunnel property located between Battery & Bell Streets and 1st & Western Avenues in Belltown, Seattle, WA.

Bidder Requirements
Consultants must be licensed Landscape Architects registered in the State of Washington. There are no specific set-aside certifications mentioned, but consultants should comply with any applicable local regulations.
