Background
The Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (BTV) is seeking proposals from contractors to supply and implement rubber removal to improve aircraft braking action and reduce marking obscuration in accordance with 150/5320-12 (latest iteration) Measurement and Maintenance of Skid-Resistant Airport Pavement Surfaces.
This work is intended to be performed on an on-call basis over a period of five years.
Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor and materials necessary for the removal of accumulated aircraft rubber from Runway 15/33, covering approximately 110,000 total square feet (55,000 square feet at each end).
The specific method for rubber removal may include water blasting, chemical methods, or a combination thereof. All work must be conducted during the hours of 12:15 a.m. to 5:15 a.m., following any necessary precautions to minimize damage to paved surfaces.
The Airfield Manager, Operations Manager, or Deputy Director of Aviation Operations will specify the amount of work required for each occurrence. The contract allows for up to ten instances of rubber removal over the course of five years, with invoicing based on an agreed-upon cost per square foot outlined in the work assignment.
Period of Performance
The term of this RFP is for a total of ten instances of rubber removal over the course of five years (60 months), when deemed necessary and/or scheduled by BTV.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must provide proof of required insurance coverages as set forth in the attached contract template and evidence that they are registered to do business in the State of Vermont.
Any proposer intending to use subcontractors must provide a list including name, contact information, relevant licensure information, description of work performed by subcontractors, and percentage of total project cost assigned to subcontractors.
