Well Installation and Well Abandonment (2022-CR-35W)

Background
The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is issuing this solicitation for the installation and abandonment of private water wells at 77 Boxwood Road, Arvonia, VA. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with the Virginia Private Well Regulations and to provide safe drinking water through proper well construction and abandonment practices.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and materials necessary to perform the following services:

1. Construct a private water well that meets Virginia Private Well Regulations.
2. Conduct tree removal and site clearing as needed based on a pre-bid site visit.
3. Abandon two existing wells according to specific instructions in the permit.
4. Provide plumbing and electrical work necessary for the well pump installation under sanitary conditions.
5. Disinfect the well and plumbing as required by regulations and obtain final compliance inspection from the health department.
6. Follow erosion and sediment control regulations during construction.
7. Comply with all requirements of the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations (DPOR) for contracting.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon issuance of a Notice to Proceed and is expected to be completed within a timeframe determined by the contractor's proposed project start and end dates, which must be submitted two weeks prior to commencement.

All work will be performed at 77 Boxwood Road, Arvonia, VA 23004.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all requirements set forth by VDH including proof of licensure as a Water Well System Provider by DPOR, insurance coverage as specified (including workers' compensation), and must submit detailed bids based on actual costs incurred for services rendered.
