UOSA IFB 25-07 Miscellaneous General Mechanical Work

Background
The Upper Occoquan Service Authority (UOSA) is a public body established under the Virginia Water Authorities Act, created to manage sewage treatment and protect water quality in the Occoquan Watershed. UOSA operates an advanced water reclamation plant and a network of interceptor sewer lines, pump stations, and force mains. This Invitation for Bid (IFB) aims to establish an annually renewable agreement for on-call miscellaneous general mechanical projects at UOSA.

Work Details
The contract involves providing miscellaneous general mechanical services, which include:

- Installing or repairing fittings, pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical equipment.
- Fabricating replacement parts.
- Installing or repairing piping (1/2" – 48" in diameter) and valves above ground.
- Conducting emergency repairs to interceptors, force mains, and manholes.
- Performing miscellaneous metal work such as ladders, hatches, fences, and railings.
- Executing earthwork, concrete, and asphalt replacement/repair associated with project tasks.
- Obtaining necessary permits.
- Ensuring high-quality workmanship in accordance with specifications.
- Testing new installations before service.
- Demolishing existing equipment as needed.
- Maintaining cleanliness of work sites and returning sites to pre-work conditions.
- Verifying existing conditions prior to work commencement.
- Adhering to applicable codes and standards including ASME, OSHA, VOSHA, AWWA.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year from the date of execution with the option to extend for up to four additional one-year periods based on mutual agreement and availability of funds.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations within the jurisdiction of the Upper Occoquan Service Authority in Centreville, Virginia.
