Uniformed Unarmed Security Guard Services

Background
The City of Petersburg, Virginia, is seeking to establish a contract for Uniformed Unarmed Security Guard Services at the Petersburg Public Library.

The library serves a diverse community and features various facilities including public access computers and meeting spaces. This contract aims to ensure the safety and security of library patrons and staff.

Work Details
The contractor will provide uniformed unarmed security officers according to the following schedule:

- Monday – Thursday: 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M.
- Friday & Saturday: 10:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
- Every 2nd Friday (April-September): 5:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.

Responsibilities include maintaining security coverage, following Standard Operating Procedures, maintaining logs and reports, providing uniforms and equipment, ensuring officer training, and responding to emergencies such as fires or medical incidents. Officers must be courteous, maintain a professional appearance, and assist library staff as needed.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract is one year (12 months) with options for two additional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Petersburg Public Library located at 201 West Washington Street, Petersburg, VA 23803.
