Town of Grottoes WWTP Lagoon Sludge Removal, Dewatering and Disposal Project **Addendum Attached**

Background
The Town of Grottoes, Virginia, is seeking bids for the Town of Grottoes WWTP Lagoon Sludge Removal, Dewatering and Disposal Project. The purpose of this project is to remove settled material from a lagoon cell while ensuring the integrity of the lagoon liner is maintained.

This project aligns with the town's mission to manage wastewater effectively and sustainably.

Work Details
The contractor is required to furnish all necessary equipment, materials, and labor to remove settled material from the identified Lagoon Cell using a method that does not impact the lagoon liner's integrity.

The removed material must be conveyed to an onsite dewatering system operated by the contractor. Dewatered material must be contained in a watertight container at all times and regularly transported offsite for disposal.

The unit price bid must include all costs associated with equipment, materials, labor, hauling, disposal fees, tipping fees, and any other costs related to removing and dewatering the lagoon material. If the actual amount of sludge does not meet the project budget of $350,000, the contractor may also need to supply specified wastewater equipment for UV disinfection or additional dewatering equipment.

The owner will provide access to the plant Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM starting April 1, 2025, as well as necessary power and potable water for the onsite dewatering system.

Period of Performance
The expected duration of the project is 60 days.

The work will be performed at the Town of Grottoes WWTP located at 601 Dogwood Avenue, Grottoes VA 24441.
