Description

Background
The City of Bristol, Virginia is seeking bids for the construction of the Balance of Plant (BOP) for the Equalization Tank System at the Bristol Integrated Solid Waste Management Facility (ISWMF). The goal is to complete all necessary civil/structural, piping, mechanical/process equipment, electrical, and instrumentation work to ensure a fully operational Equalization Tank System.

The EQ tanks, which are two 500,000-gallon bolted steel tanks, were procured under a separate contract.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Site clearing, grading, and earthwork
- Secondary containment
- Access road and truck pad
- Process piping (both HDPE and stainless steel)
- Installation of a leachate feed pump lift station
- Installation of recirculation pumps, discharge pumps, and a chemical dosing system
- Installation of jet air blowers and an off-gas treatment system
- Electrical power distribution including panelboards and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Instrumentation and controls including PLCs, HMIs, and field instruments
- Startup, testing, and commissioning of the system.

Period of Performance
The project is required to be substantially completed within 330 days from the Notice to Proceed and fully completed within 365 days.

The contract will be performed at the Bristol Integrated Solid Waste Management Facility located at 2655 Valley Drive, Bristol, VA 24201.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a Class A contractor's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
